LIGALY, The Center, and SAGE-LI offer internship placements for first and second year students earning a Master’s degree in Social Work at an accredited university. Internships are available throughout the year, and involve work in both the macro and micro aspects of the field. This includes community organizing, social and recreational programming, and clinical services amongst other tasks and responsibilities.
Social work internship placements are currently filled for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Youth Internships : Youth Community Organizers
Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY) is seeking six (6) out-going high school students interested in expanding their involvement and skills in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) community.
This unpaid community organizing internship is a great opportunity for youth to
- work as a team
- empower themselves and their peers
- help build and sustain LIGALY programming at the Center at Garden City.

Jewish Outreach Internship
LIGALY's Aleph Project, which connects GLBT Jewish youth and young adults with Jewish life and experience, is seeking an intern. This unpaid internship is a great opportunity for an individual interested in working at the intersection of GLBT and Jewish issues to build their resume related to outreach, facilitating groups, and social support.
